PROGRAMS

The “Fit Commit”

REACH has been awarded $25,000 thru the U.S. Conference of Mayors and The American Beverage Association. The program will begin fall 2018 in association with the Port Arthur Independent School District.

Mobile Market

As a community, we have to be creative when it comes to making quality, healthy food available to individuals in this area. One solution that makes sense for our residents is a “mobile market”. Mobile markets have had great success in other cities that have issues with food deserts. A mobile market will not solve all of the issues surrounding this problem, but it will definitely make a huge difference in the quality of life for citizens living under in these areas.

CAMP STEMULATE

Camp STEMulate was designed to bridge the gap on disparities within the STEM field. There is currently a lack of gender and ethnic diversity within student groups entering STEM educational programs and career fields. Our goal is to help students within these underrespresented groups really excel in STEM education and connect with knowledge and programs to cultivate a love for Science, Technology, Engineering & Math. By housing Camp STEMulate at Lamar State College Port Arthur and having the students reside in the dormitories, we create an environment where students start thinking about college, talking about college, and making decisions in their lives to prepare them for attending college
